Here are my first files; daughters medical, reciepts, renta that I own, cats, car insurance&registration, memorabila, house I own. In what order would I put things in general to easily find them?

also I have a "legal" file that I put my social, copies of old drivers licenses, certificate of baptism, dads death cert….should I put my car title in there or in the insurance and registration folder?

what is a good system for organizing my files and monthly bills?

Posted in File Organization on March 26th, 2010 by admin – 4 Comments

I am in my early twenties and just got an apartment. Already owe more than i make and I need to have a Tangible System, filing AND agenda wise, that is Easy to:

Locate
Update
Classify
Maintain

( i.e. file labeling catagories, sections, what to keep, websites for unique organizing/filing products, checklists, etc..)

- And NO one I know would label be as organized …but I am good at sticking to a Routine, even to one that is only *Semi-Flexible,* as long as it makes the process easier and no too complicated.

HELP!!! I am drowning in papers that need organization; but I also need to be able to SEE them?

Posted in File Organization on March 23rd, 2010 by admin – 4 Comments

There are things I cannot put in a file cabinet or accordion folder because if I don’t SEE them I will forget about them and I’m right back to where I started, basically.

I am referring to things like papers/fliers/reminders from my kid’s school; forms to fill out; book report papers that must be filled in and returned to my son’s school every week; papers that I must save and take with me certain places; blah, blah, blah.

I’m the kind of person that has to SEE everything (I like to make lists – that kind of thing) or I FEEL overwhelmed – know what I mean? What can I do?

P.S. I also have my own college work, papers, etc!!!

HELP!

How To Organize Files In An Office?

Posted in File Organization on March 19th, 2010 by admin – 3 Comments

I have files all over the place … actually a lot of papers are not file because of serious procrastination. I am positive that if I get a good system in place to organize my papers in a good filing system, I will be able to keep up.

The problem is, I need help getting a good filing system in place. Are there any good methods to organize files in an office?

Can someone help me organize some papers please?

Posted in File Organization on March 20th, 2010 by admin – 2 Comments

My husband has no organization skills and very often cannot find something he’s looking for. There are papers in our closet on a shelf, papers in paper bags and stuff in plastic bags, and as you can see this drives me nuts. It’s also a hazzard not to mention it’s turning our home into a junk bin. I would like to know how to organize his business papers so he or I can find them with ease. I already have some folders and a plastic file case to put them in. How long should certain papers be kept and should I rotate the files every now and then according to year?

Where do I turn for creating and organizing home files?
