Organization tips please!!?

Posted in Office Organization on April 2nd, 2010 by admin – 3 Comments

I live in a three bedroom mobile home. If you have ever been inside of one then you know that there is very little storage!! I have the generic home with just three bedrooms and two full baths. It is only my husband and me who live here, but we have already ran out of room! I am fixing to have a garage sale and get rid of a lot of un-necessary junk.

After I do that I plan on trying to get organized! What tips do you have on getting organized?? I have two extra bedrooms. One is currently being used for a guest bedroom and storage room. The other is used for an office/tanning room. I have a large tanning bed that takes up a lot of space. I don’t want to get rid of it. All of my closets are full of plastic totes that are holding junk….I need some organization tips please!!

Thank you…God Bless!

new system of organization?

Posted in Office Organization on April 1st, 2010 by admin – 1 Comment

for the past few months i’ve been becoming more and more organized so i could make full use of all of my time.

i keep my backpack clean, my papers in a certain place, i make check lists of my priorities for the day, write dates down in my datebook, always try to bring small things to do with me, put papers up on my cork board, write little reminders on my little white board, keep myself from procrastication, and yet i still feel like i’m not doing enough and that there is a lot more i can do to become more efficient & organized. i can never seem to make enough time to get things done.

does anyone have any tips on organization or how to make better use of my time ?
are there any office/desk organizers that may be of great use ?

Anyone have some suggestions for decorating combination front office/reception area?

Posted in Office Organization on March 30th, 2010 by admin – 4 Comments

I’ve been asked to assist with decorating the combination front office/reception area of a non-profit organization that works with people who have various disabilities.

The room is rectangular in shape, with neutral color walls and tile flooring. When you walk in, you are immediately in a small waiting area with a few chairs situated beneath the only window in the room. The window, which faces the parking lot, is large and rectangular shaped. It has white "industrial style" blinds over it.

Directly in front of this seating area is the receptionist’s desk, which is located near the right-hand wall. The desk is a grayish-white color and has a slightly modern/edgy look to it. The wall the desk is by is completely empty. Some shelving is needed there.

This space definitely needs a shot of color and personality! A rug could possibly be used in receptionist’s desk area, but can’t be used elsewhere in the room due to safety issues. It may be possible to paint one wall a different color than what’s already there. What color scheme, style of window covering, wall shelving and misc. accents would you suggest, and are there any office decorating web sites you might suggest that are along the lines of what you suggest? (I’m a very visual person and it helps me to have some things to look at for inspiration.)

Thanks in advance!

What are your steps to fixing a room that has turned against you?

Posted in Office Organization on March 29th, 2010 by admin – 7 Comments

My small workshop (and a few times my office) has become cluttered during times of projects and I feel has turned against me. Sometimes, just opening the door is the only function left. LOL. What are the steps to getting control and organization back in these spaces? What do you do first?

Need help designing a home office/dressing room?

Posted in Office Organization on March 27th, 2010 by admin – 1 Comment

We have very little closet space in our house. My husband’s clothes are in a spare room down the hall in a huge armoire. I hate that his clothes don’t have a closet, or fit in our bedroom. I don’t know if I should try and design the spare room to be an office/dressing room that houses his clothes and still functions as an office/study, or if I should try and fit that huge armoire in our bedroom. (it will fit, but just barely and it will be really hard to move!) Any ideas on designing a dual purpose room or just a really nice office/study? Organization tips for a house with no closets?

Office decorating/organizing ideas?

Posted in Office Organization on March 26th, 2010 by admin – 5 Comments

My office at work is currently very cluttered. Each day when I leave, I clean up, organize my paperwork for the next day, and leave my office tidy. When I come in the next morning and get to work, I wind up with papers strewn all over my desk. I can’t stand to sit amidst all this clutter – it seems to also clutter my thoughts.

I want to get organized so that my office looks neat and tidy and also add some personal touches. I’ve tried Office Max and Office Depot for some office supplies but I want some supplies with more of a personal touch. I’m also looking for some nice, inexpensive desk accessories and some accents for my bookshelf.

Any organization tools, supplies, or ideas would be very helpful. I would like my office to feel more comfortable and less like a mess.
Right now my office furniture consists of 1 large, oak desk the stays covered in paperwork, a greyish file cabinet, a leather swivel chair, 2 leather chairs for guest, and a bookcase to match the desk. The walls are wood panelled up to about waist high and one wall is completely wood panelled. I hope this helps for any decorating ideas.

Thanks!

Any organization tips please?

Okay, school starts in exactly two weeks and my office and bedroom are both complete disasters. I’m usually an organized person but with all the new text books and clothes everything’s beginning to cram. I’ve already gotten rid of some stuff I don’t need and sold it on eBay.
Any other ideas on how to organize it all?? I’d like to start the new year fresh =)

Can someone help me with some original ideas on how to decorate my office door for Christmas?

Posted in Office Organization on March 24th, 2010 by admin – 3 Comments

We are having a contest at work. We all have a door to decorate for Christmas. The winner gets a paid day off. I’ve got a few ideas, but I’m also helping two co-workers w/their doors. If it helps, I work at a non-profit organization where Christmas is big. Plus, I work in the department that deals with a lot of kids. Thanks!
