Cozy clutter! I'm a grandma of twin 5 yr old girls, I never would of thought things could get out of control when they came visit or slept over. They can have things array with in 5 minutes. The only thing remaining organize is the crayon plastic container. Finally I bought a storage shelf with cubbyhole with things label and of course a bin with doors so we can hide the extra mess you don't want to deal with yet. When people come to visit its not so bad really longs everything has its place.

I think that a house should have a nice, homely amount of clutter, random books and clothes and stuff - yeah, cozy clutter! Like my home.

I have a friend, and her house is PERFECT - nothing out of place. And, hey, it looks nice. But its like a showroom, you know? Not homely at all. And I'm always nervous that I have misplaced something in her house. No freedom. And this causes her to be pretty OCD about where everything goes in the house and stuff, which definitely isn't good!

There is definitely a limit with the amount of mess, you don't want to be living in a dump, not being able to move around the house. But at the same time, you don't want to be cleaning every 2 seconds! I mean, who has the time to do something so boring?!

Cozy clutter = a nice-to-live-in HOME.
Perfect home = no fun... a HOUSE but it isn't personal.

Cozy clutter simply shows that someone LIVES in the house. That's what makes it a home. Too neat, and no one really feels comfortable in it even the people who reside there. I think the key thing is for the house to be kept clean so that there isn't a lot of dust and the "clutter" doesn't look like it's been sitting out unattended for more than a week or two.

I sure hope so or I'm in big trouble! Inside duties are getting pushed back because we're painting/caulking all the outside trim, windows and doors. Only so many hours in a day and this needs to get done before winter.

2 Suggestions.

One set daily goals: realistic goals you can reach that day, reward yourself if you accomplish them, punish if you do not, start easy and start making them harder as you actually start to focus on a task now instead of later.

Two, for one week, right done everything you do during a day and the amount of time it takes to do it, (bathroom, get a drink, text, google, whatever). At the end of the week, look at each day and see what was productive, how much time was wasted, what can be eliminated or moved to a break period.

I like to buckle down and work hard for about 2 hours, then take a 15 minute break doing whatever to recharge.

start first take a break later. quit cheating your self out of breaks. I know you like to hammer down and crank out the work, but I promise it will be easier if you just relax a little bit.
