New styles are available every season. Clearing out your cosmetic bag opens up space for the new colours and trends that are available with every new season. It is similar to clothing fashion. It is important to refresh your wardrobe with new items from the season.

Bacteria can start growing in things like mascara in as little as three months. This can cause serious eye irritation. When food is old, or is moldy we throw it out. Just as important is your cosmetics. When in doubt, throw it out!

3. Are You Being Ruthless?
When going through your cosmetics are you effortlessly tossing away the old products or are you prone to keeping some of them around…thinking that you might use them “one day” or that they might come back in style? We use 20% of our items 80% of the time.
4. Consult Your Beauty Specialist
After clearing out your cosmetic bag, make a list of what you need or would like. Then set up a time to meet with your personal Beauty Consultant for a preview of what’s new. Your Beauty Consultant is an expert who will help answer any questions you may have and is someone that can offer advice as to how the new products will look and feel.
5. Gifts With Purchase
Major sources of clutter that can be found in a lot of cosmetic bags are those “purchasing mistakes” or those lovely “gifts with purchase” that you never use. The best way to get rid of these unused items is to donate them to your nearest women’s shelter.
6. More About Unused Cosmetics
So you bought something on impulse, then you get it home and realize it wasn’t quite right. If it hasn’t been used, return it right away. Or, another option is to donate it to a women’s shelters in your area. This helps you get organized while helping another woman less fortunate than you…there is no waste in that!
7. Not Your Favourites?
If it is not being used, it is considered clutter. We know you like to stick to your favourite make-up and skincare products. Great! If you have not used a product within a year – then TOSS IT OUT! Are you being ruthless?!

Having your cosmetic bag organized will save you so much time when getting ready in the morning or for the evening or just when you need a little ‘touch-up’.
